RIP Keith

It is with extreme sadness that we heard today of the passing of our wonderful friend Keith Blackburn. Keith was an integral part of the Monkey Folk Club, a great musician, and a very talented songwriter. He was liked and respected by all of us for his talent, his humour and his humanity. He always put a smile on people’s faces, treated everyone with respect and dignity, and made the world a better place.

Keith was very well known on the local music scene and further afield. He ran the Blythe Valley Samba band, was a member of Beeswing, and sang with Gertie as Here Today. He was a very kind and caring man, would help anybody, and was active and vociferous in the fight against any form of injustice. He was very special and we shall all miss him immensely. We will continue his memory and hopefully some of us will sing and play his songs regularly.

Rest in peace dear friend, we know you will be with us whenever we get together to play music. We send our deepest condolences to all of Keith’s family and our thought and prayers are with them at this distressing time.
